Dear Year 10 Parent / Carer
I hope you and your families are safe and well. Following on from my last update on 22nd May, I am writing to let you know the details for how school will resume for Year 10 students in the week beginning Monday June 15th. In line with government guidance, we are having a quarter of the year group in each day. Each session will start at 10:00 and will end at 12:15. Students should be on site at 9:50 in preparation for the 10 am start. Please see the schedule below. In the first instance your child will be with members of the form. During the first session, your child will be told when their next sessions are over the coming weeks. In the first session in school, we will discuss all of the measures that we have put in place to ensure the safety of students and staff. The focus will also be on well-being and our behaviour expectations. Subsequent sessions will focus on English, maths and science. Sessions will run up to the end of the summer term (Friday 17th July)
All students must bring the following items: pen, pencil, ruler, drink and a snack.
We do not expect students to wear school uniform but clothing should be comfortable; we do not chase fashion. We advise wearing trainers. For health and safety reasons, flip flops/open toe shoes will not be allowed. Please do not worry if your child’s hair is not compliant with our hair policy. Students must use all three normal school entry and exit points and maintain social distancing on the journey to and from school and when they are in school. On arrival at school, all students should make their way to the main yard where we have marked out areas for them to line up, compliant with social distancing.
If your child relies on public transport and you are unable to bring them to school, please contact care@alsagerschool.org and we will work with you to make separate arrangements, where possible. If you plan to bring your child in a car, please use the Church Road entry/exit. Please do not use the main car park.
We expect all students to attend on their specified day. If your child is unable to attend, you must inform the school using the absence line as normal. If your child is unwell they must not attend.
Monday 15th June: DOD
Tuesday 16th June: LOVELL
Wednesday 17th June: MORETON
Thursday 18th June: ROYCE
We are really looking forward to welcoming back an increased number of our students into school and restoring some form of ‘normality’ for us all. We understand that some of them (and you) might be feeling a little anxious about returning, that is to be expected and we will cover these feelings in their first session. However, I think we all agree that the longer our young people are out of school the harder it will for them to return and they will benefit hugely from being in school again.
Many thanks
