Competitions

Every year Alsager School students take part in the UKMT Challenges for team and individual competitions, with bronze, silver and gold awards at junior, intermediate and senior levels. Different age groups take these competitions at different times of the year.

The UKMT Team Challenges promote Mathematical dexterity, teamwork and communication skills. They also give pupils the opportunity to compete against pupils from other schools in their region. Main activities:

In the spring half-term students are given the opportunity to participate in the MEM Challenge Competitions, organised by universities in Liverpool.

During the spring term the school selects some Year 10 students to enter the Year 10 MEM Maths Feast competitions. This is an enjoyable and challenging team competition testing mathematical, team-working and communication skills. Each year the format of the competition changes slightly so that the rounds remain interesting and exciting.
