Alsager School Vocal group have been crowned winners of the 2019 Love Music Trust Cheshire East Schools’ Music Competition.
Choirs from all around the county had entered the various heats and making it through to the final at Crewe Lyceum were choirs from Poynton, Brine Leas and Alsager. It was a truly wonderful evening full of quality music and musical performances. All the choirs performed brilliantly, and the evening was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone attending.
The singers from Alsager range from age 11-18 and sang a fantastic set, wowing not only the audience but also the two professional judges. Songs included ‘Somebody to Love’, ‘Mr Sandman’, ‘Bring him Home’ and ‘Man in the Mirror’. Judges’ comments included: “Very exciting”, “totally gripping” and “This is like a West End Show!”
Mr Galley, Head of Music said: “I am so proud of all the students. They have worked incredibly hard to produce a performance of such excellence. This is the 4th time that our vocal group have won showing the great talent, drive and enthusiasm students have for music here at Alsager School”.
