We are incredibly proud of the fantastic Humanities projects completed by our Year 7 studentslast term. Students were challenged to design their own independent research project, focusing on a topic of interest from History, Geography or Religious Education, or by combining learning from more than one Humanities subject. Students were encouraged to make links across subjects wherever possible and to present their research creatively.
We were amazed by the creativity of the results. Projects included models, artwork, presentations, posters, speeches, articles, and many other imaginative formats. Creative pieces were supported by written explanations to show their Humanities knowledge, and many students were able to combine their learning from all three Humanities subjects, which was great to see.
The effort, creativity and independence shown by our students was outstanding. Many really surpassed all expectations, producing thoughtful, well-researched and highly original work. The quality of the projects made choosing finalists extremely difficult. Our Headteacher, Mrs O’Neill, had a very difficult time trying to pick just six winners, so much so that we added an extra four‘Head’s Winners’ to the list!
The winning projects really stood out for their strong subject links, depth of understanding and creativity.
