GCSE Results

Exams

There were lots of smiling faces today when Year 11 came to collect their GCSEs.  This year group have had to dig really deep following a year of disruption and uncertainty to their learning, but they have coped admirably.  With formal exams cancelled, it was all systems go for our Year 11 students when they returned to face to face learning in March when they had to take a wide range of assessments for each subject.  The results they collected today reflected the commitment they had shown to their learning.  Many will now be able to move confidently onto the next stage of their educational journey.

Mrs O’Neill is delighted: “These students have had such a difficult time; they have all had periods of self-isolation this academic year and from January to March they had to get to grips with online learning at what would normally be a critical point in the exam year. It was lovely to see them all this morning and great to see that many will be returning to our sixth form.  We have a number of students moving on to local colleges to embark on other exciting courses.  I am certain that they will thrive, and I wish them all well.”

We continue to offer support to any students who need advice and guidance over the coming weeks. In addition, places are still available for anyone who does not have a post 16 course secured for September 2021 and would like to join our exceptionally high performing college.
