Over the last few weeks, Year 6 pupils from Highfields Primary School and Excalibur Primary School have been attending an afterschool First Aid club here at Alsager School.
The pupils have been learning lifesaving first aid including:
- Recovery position
- CPR
- How to use AEDs
- How to control bleeding
- Using slings to support limbs
- Anaphylaxis and using autoinjectors
- Asthma
- How to treat burns
- Seizures
Course leader’s Mr Potts & Mrs Birchall have been really impressed with the enthusiasm of the pupils and their knowledge of first aid topics. The pupils have been a pleasure to work with and excellent ambassadors of their respective primary schools.
