Business Language Champions

Our Year 10 Modern Foreign Language students enjoyed a visit from Sally Fagan of Business Language Champions today as part of our Sixth Form Taster lesson. She shared her vast experience of language related jobs with the whole cohort and put into context the current and ongoing need for people who speak a foreign language in the UK workplace. 30 students then competed in a competition to market Jelly Babies to a foreign audience. They devised a brand name, slogan and USP and then produced an advert in their target language. The results were a variety of catchy jingles and creative ideas. Students showed an impressive ability to manipulate a foreign language in an unfamiliar environment.
