In SPIRIT lessons, each week, pupils develop the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to keep themselves healthy and safe, and prepare for life and work in modern Britain.

Our SPIRIT lessons are designed to develop the SPIRIT values: Self – regulation, Participation, Integrity, Resilient, Inspired and Tolerant. This is done in form groups and lessons often include group or team work, discussions and time to reflect.

Key taught themes include: health and wellbeing, relationships, risk, economic wellbeing and careers education. The schemes of work are regularly updated to ensure that they remain relevant and responsive to current affairs.

Incorporated in the schemes are SPIRIT challenges which form groups work on in the pursuit of college points.

The most recent SPIRIT challenge, and some examples of entries, can be found on our SPIRIT challenge page.
