As we fast approach the end of the academic year, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on what has been a fantastic week so far. Each year group has enjoyed a range of sporting activities, all building up to our much-anticipated Sports Day tomorrow.
The forecast predicts hot weather, so we kindly ask for your support in ensuring your child is well-prepared. Please make sure they come to school with suncream, a sun hat, and plenty of water to stay hydrated throughout the day.
To help keep everyone cool, we will have a couple of ice cream vans on site. These will be cash-only, so please ensure your child brings some money if they would like a treat. The canteen will also be open for drinks, so we encourage you to top up lunch accounts in advance.
Staff have been asked to bring gazebos to provide shade, and we will have designated rest areas around the field. Please remind your child that if they begin to feel unwell or overheated, they should speak to a member of staff immediately.
We’re looking forward to a brilliant day of team spirit and celebration. This is the final opportunity for pupils to earn points for their college—DOD took home the cup last year… can they hold onto it, or will another college claim the title?
In addition, today marks the final day for voting for our new Head Students. The campaigning over the past weeks has been great, there are definitely some politicians in the making. Pupils have also been nominating their peers for acts of kindness in or outside of school as part of the Allan Maclean Award. We will announce winners next week.
