We are really looking forward to welcoming prospective parents and pupils to our Open Morning this Saturday. It’s always a fantastic opportunity to showcase the wonderful work taking place across the school and, most importantly, to celebrate how brilliant our pupils are. We have lots of pupil volunteers which is always impressive for them to give up their Saturday morning to come into school.
Our Year 7 students have settled in exceptionally well. The transition lessons have played a key role in helping them to embrace the Alsager Way, and it’s been a pleasure to see them grow in confidence so quickly. Other year groups have also made a strong and focused start to the term.
Thank you for your continued support with our high standards around uniform — pupils are looking very smart, and it really sets a positive tone for the school day.
Our enrichment programme is already in full swing. A particular highlight has been the impressive performance from our Year 7 netball team, who secured a well-deserved win over Sandbach earlier this week. Well done to all involved!
It was lovely to see so many of you at our recent Tea, Toast and Talk last Friday. If you weren’t able to attend, our next event will be on Wednesday 17th December, perfect timing to enjoy a mince pie. These informal gatherings are a great way to meet staff, connect with other parents, and gain a deeper insight into life at the school.
We also look forward to welcoming Year 7 parents to our Settling-In Evening on Thursday October 2nd. This is an important opportunity for you to meet your child’s form tutor and hear key information about their start to secondary school. To ensure we can accommodate everyone comfortably, this event is for parents only, and we kindly ask that you attend at your allocated time. A form has already been sent out for any general questions you’d like us to address as part of the presentation.
Behaviour across the school has been commendable. We’ve welcomed several visitors this half term, all of whom have commented on how polite, respectful, and well-behaved our pupils are. We set high expectations, and it’s clear that pupils are rising to meet them — it really does make a significant difference to the smooth running of the school.
To help us keep pupils safe at the end of the school day, please try to park a little further away from school. The car park does become very busy and it is a challenge to cross the roads surrounding the school.
Staff are on duty to ensure that pupils exit the site in an orderly and safe manner. However, please note that staff are not able to direct traffic around the school.
Your cooperation in supporting a safe and calm dismissal is greatly appreciated.
Finally, for those of you following sport, it promises to be a great weekend with both the Women’s Rugby World Cup and theRyder Cup taking place — plenty to inspire our young athletes!
Thank you, as always, for your continued support and whatever your plans, have a lovely weekend.
“Children have never been very good at listening to their elders, but they have never failed to imitate them.” (James Baldwin)
