News from Mrs O'Neill

We have had an exciting final day, announcing the winner of The Allan Maclean Award, College Cup and Sports Day winners interspersed with some great dancing! We were all particularly impressed with the dance moves of our new Head Students Lennie and Jonathan.

The Allan Maclean award for kindness and support is awarded annually to a pupil, across the whole school, for demonstrating kindness and support to another pupil(s). The winner receives a £25 Amazon voucher.  The Allan Maclean award winner this year was Molly-Rose.

It was an incredibly close College competition this year, with only 13 points separating 4th and 1st place for the Cup. We’re delighted to share that, after a nine-year hiatus, Royceare this year’s champions—congratulations to all involved!

The Sports Day Cup was not quite so close.  This year’s ‘run away’ winners were Moreton College.  A fitting way for Mrs Broad to bow out as Head of Moreton College.  Mrs Broad is staying as part of our staff and I am sure she will pass on her competitive spirit to Mr Bamba, who will be joining us in September.

If you live close to the school, you may also have heard the multiple screams and cheers when the Harry Potter draw was taking place.

Please also take a moment to enjoy the latest edition of our school magazine, The Swan. It’s packed with fantastic articles celebrating the achievements of our students, including the Golf Team who represented Cheshire at the English Schools Golf Championship—perhaps drawing inspiration from Justin Rose at this weekend’s British Open for next year! We are also proud to highlight our athletes who competed for South Cheshire at the Cheshire Championships. Such fabulous talent across the board!

Details for the first day back have already been circulated and will be shared again via our social media channels closer to the time.

The cast list for our next show ‘High School Musical’ has been shared today; we can’t wait to see it in December.

Thank you as always for your continued support throughout the year. I wish you a restful and enjoyable summer break, and I look forward to welcoming everyone back in September.

“We’re all in this together.” (Troy Bolton)
