We all wish our fantastic year 11 cohort of 2019 the very best for their current exams and much happiness for the future. We hope to see many of them again next year in our 6th form. It has been an absolute pleasure and a privilege to work with them over the last five years. We said our official ‘goodbyes’ this afternoon as many of the class of 2019 have only a few exams left. I am aware that there are still a few exams yet to be completed and not all students are finished quite yet. The compulsory revision sessions for those subjects will run as normal over the coming days.
We had to organise year 11 ‘leaving arrangements’ differently this year because of the exam timetable set externally by the boards. There was no clear slot when all the year group were not sitting an exam. Naturally, we wanted all the year group to take part and prevent leaving celebrations impacting upon their exams. It is for this reason we had to pick this afternoon. We are all really looking forward to the year 11 prom on Friday 5th July where we will also show the short films from the Y11 tutors and the heads of college as they wish the class of 2019 all the best for their futures.
Thanks again to the class of 2019 – you have coped brilliantly throughout a very intensive exam season and worked so hard. I hope each and every one of you gets the results in August that you deserve and which will make you, your families and the school very proud.
