Earlier this month we proudly held our annual Summer Showcase event in which we celebrated the outstanding achievement and creativity of our musicians, artists, photographers and designers. The evening began with the Rotary Club of Alsager judging and presenting students with a Rotary Club of Alsager Art, Design and Technology Award.

A wide range of musical talent was showcased including both Lower and Upper School Vocal Groups as well as Junior and Senior Orchestras. Both the award winning Chamber Vocal Group and Jazz Band featured performing a selection of songs from their winning sets. Other featured artists included the up and coming year 8 Rock band ‘The Sounds of Phoenix’ who will be playing at the Alsager Music Festival this year. Other highlights included the boys vocal groups dance inspired ‘Lean on Me’, Alex Jacobs and Mollie Brown’s fantastic compositions, as well as Grace Litherland Clews on the piano. This year has been a very successful year in terms of the accolades won by musicians and bands here including:
Mr Galley, Subject Leader for Music, said: “The concert was the last for a few of our incredibly talented year 13 musicians as they are leaving to go onto university and pastures new. A huge thank you to Luke Prince, Tim Hargreaves, Kris Morgan, Cameron Brooks and Josh Farrington who have starred in concerts and shows over the last 7 years”.

We would like to thank all the students involved and we look forward to next year’s Summer Showcase”.
