Good afternoon,We have been asked by Ofqual to provide you with an update on exams for summer 2022. The link below will take you to a letter written specifically for students from Jo Saxton, Ofqual’s chief regulator. Ofqual is the governing body which has responsibility for regulating exams. The intention currently is that the exam season will go ahead but there may be some slight changes to what you will be examined on. More information is available in the link below on this. In the letter, Jo Saxton also talks about the grade boundaries; they are aiming for a grading standard, which reflects a midway point between 2021 and 2019. This means that more students in 2022 will get higher grades than before the pandemic. In the unlikely event of exams not going ahead due to Covid disruptions, your grades will be determined by your teachers using a teacher assessed grade approach. This means that your teachers will gather evidence through assessments, such as mock examinations. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/open-letters-arrangements-for-gcses-as-and-a-levels-in-2022/letter-to-students
