Our annual school production was again a huge success. ‘’Annie’ was performed over three nights for audiences to enjoy, plus two matinee performances for local primary schools.
It was a colourful extravaganza which celebrated the collaboration between the Music, Drama, Dance and Art departments, as well as incorporating pupils from Cranberry Academy, Excalibur, Alsager Highfields, Pikemere and Weston primary schools.
Mr Galley, Subject Leader of Music, said: ”Over 150 students and staff from within the Alsager community are working together as a team to produce a brilliant show and it is just great to be part of that team’’.
Miss Taylor, choreographer and dance teacher teacher, said: “The show will be absolutely fantastic; all our students have given 100% throughout the rehearsal process and looking forward to the performances’’.
Mrs Wise, Subject leader for Drama added, ‘’Many thanks go to all the primary school pupils and staff involved, they are great to work with”.
Mr Middlebrook said: “I am extremely proud of all the students and staff involved in creating such a wonderful show. It was a real school production, a huge cast with ages ranging from 7 to 18 and involving seven schools. I am sure everyone enjoyed the performances as much as I did and it is always a real pleasure to see young people enjoying themselves so much, whether that was on the stage singing and dancing, playing in the band, working on the set, lighting, costumes or behind the stage. The staff also did a great job, so many colleagues were involved but I would especially like to thank Mr Galley, Miss Edwards, Mrs Wise, Miss Waterhouse and Miss Taylor for all the hours of work they put into the show”.
