The old school library was transformed into the LRC (Learning Resource Centre) and officially opened on 23rd October 1998. The following activities are going on in the LRC week commencing 22nd October to celebrate its 20th birthday.
All week
Book Fair – we have a Scholastic Book Fair with loads of books and stationary for sale, students will need to bring in cash if they would like to purchase anything – no payment can be made through ParentPay.
Alpha Challenge – quick timed quiz for the students to compete against each other, and the clock.

Book Tree – growing all the time with leaves students have completed detailing their favourite book.

Monday
Year 9 Alsager Rotary Club Literacy Competition – all year 9 have written WW1 ‘Thank You’ poems and the shortlisted ones from each class will come to the LRC for a tea party at which time prizes will be awarded to the winners.
Tuesday
‘The Journeyman’ will be working with some year 8 in the LRC exploring the dystopian theme.
Wednesday
Cake Sale in aid of MNDA – the LRC will be selling cakes throughout the day to students and staff. There will be a MNDA Bakeit! quiz circulating to all form groups with a prize for the winning form.
We will also be holding a VIP party for some of our regular users, we are hoping retired staff who were involved in the transition will also be visiting the LRC.
Thursday
Slam Poet, Ash Dickinson, will be working with some year 9 & 10 students in their English classes.
Friday
Book Sale will still be on for all students who wish to buy something.
