Grease Success

Our annual school production has yet again been a huge success. ‘Grease’ was performed over three nights for audiences to enjoy, plus two matinee performances for local primary schools.

It was a colourful extravaganza which celebrated the collaboration between the Music and Drama departments, as well as incorporating pupils from Cranberry Academy, Excalibur, Alsager Highfields, St Gabriel’s, Pikemere and Weston primary schools.

Miss Edwards, Drama teacher said: ”We had over 200 students take part in the show over the three evening performances, a huge thank you to all the primary students that were involved, as they were great and looked fabulous in their pink ladies and t-bird jackets. All of the students have been working incredibly hard since September to make it such a fantastic show”.

Headteacher Richard Middlebrook said: “I am extremely proud of all the students and staff involved in creating such a wonderful show. It was a real school production, a huge cast with ages ranging from 7 to 18 and involving seven schools. I am sure everyone enjoyed the performances as much as I did and it is always a real pleasure to see young people enjoying themselves so much, whether that was on the stage singing and dancing, playing in the band, working on the set, lighting, costumes or behind the stage. The staff also did a great job, so many colleagues were involved but I would especially like to thank Mr Galley, Miss Edwards and Mrs Sisca for all the hours of work they put into the show”.
