At KS4, Progress 8 measures how well students of all abilities have performed in our school compared to students with the same academic starting point across all other schools in the country. A score above zero means students, on average, made more progress than similar students nationally. Each year the average national Progress 8 score is close to zero, meaning students achieved what was expected.

Attainment 8 is the average total points score for our school when adding up the best counting eight grades for each student. Note: The points for each qualification has changed each year from 2015-2018, so they are not directly comparable.
To be eligible for the EBacc, a student must sit English Language; English Literature; Mathematics; Single Sciences or Combined Science; either History or Geography and a Modern Foreign Language at GCSE.
At KS5, the A-Level Progress score or “value added” figure measures how much progress students at Alsager Sixth Form College made between the end of key stage 4 and the completion of their A-level studies compared to students with the same results across the country. A score above zero means students, on average, made more progress than students with similar GCSE grades nationally.
