We would like to make you aware of some changes that are happening at senior leadership level at school as from September’18. As people know, Alsager is part of a multi academy trust with Weston Primary School. Mr Middlebrook’s role as Executive Headteacher, is to lead the two schools and ensure high standards across the trust. For this reason, as from September, the senior leadership team will operate slightly differently than it is now. We did receive some external funding from the government to help build leadership capacity at senior level and schools in multi academy trusts need to be adaptable to allow staff to work across more than one school. Mr Middlebrook will remain based at Alsager for much of the time but he will also be working at Weston and other sites. Mrs O’Neill will therefore take on some of the ‘day to day’ running of the school, as ‘Head of School’. Mrs Walton will become Senior Deputy Head and Mrs Young the other Deputy Head. In reality this means that parents / carers and students may well deal with Mrs O’Neill, as Head of School, rather than Mr Middlebrook at times. The school has complete confidence in Mrs O’Neill and other senior colleagues in running the school in Mr Middlebrook’s absence and we would especially like to congratulate Mrs O’Neill on her exciting appointment . However, as has been said, Mr Middlebrook will remain at Alsager for the vast majority of the time and he intends to remain fully involved in the leadership of the school as he is ultimately responsible for standards across the trust.
