We are delighted that Alsager School has been awarded ‘Champion School’ status by National Citizen Service (NCS) due to its commitment to the youth programme to date. Alsager has been selected from thousands of schools participating in this initiative from across the country. Over the last 3 years, 73 pupils have taken part in NCS, with teachers expressing delight in student attitudes and skills post-programme.
National Citizen Service is a two or four week programme for 16 & 17 year olds which takes place during school holidays. The programme, which UCAS (Universities & Colleges Admissions Service) recommends referencing on personal statements, helps teens develop skills for work and life including confidence, leadership and resilience, whilst also expanding social networks.
