Students in year 8 were lucky enough to have an assembly from BLESMA yesterday (a charity who help to support soldiers who have lost limbs due to service). The assembly focused on the SPIRIT values of inspired and resilience, as we heard the story of a soldier who received a life changing injury and how they had to battle to overcome the problems that the injury caused.
From this, a few lucky year 8 students were then invited to a workshop, where they worked closely with the charity in order to consider how to be resilient in the face of adversity. Miss Smith, SPIRIT Coordinator, said: “It was a highly inspirational morning for all of our year 8 students, I am really pleased BLESMA were able to visit us again.”
