Year 7 are coming to the end of their Michael Landy project. Jess J in Year 7 has produced three fantastic Michael Landy inspired drawings of her favourite objects. Well done Jess – Miss Brittain.
Lots of our students have been missing their favorite fast food restaurant so after studying their nutriental value, we asked them to make a healthier option. Sam C. was quick to make his dish.
Ben S. has been busy making a healthier option for his Happy meals. Well done for creating the box too.
Lacie has thought about how the fast food industry needs to cater for all and has served up gluten free burgers. Excellent presentation.
Tins to plate…. how do we serve up bake beans? What do we do with the Tins afterwards? Lacie has tried to be creative with her beans and dressed them in a glass. Well done Lacie.
Year 8 Computing were set the task to create a coded message in Ascii code for staff to translate, Keira combined her Computer Science task with Pride Month. Excellent work Keira.
Over half term Mrs Coxon asked year 12 Psychology students to research historical treatments in Psychology. Part of this was to investigate the reasons patients were admitted and how they were treated. As a final challenge they were asked to complete a modern design of a treatment centre and we had some fantastic responses.

Congratulations to Olivia for completing our half term challenge – she learnt how to bake and created her very first lemon meringue pie, followed by a lemon sponge cake. These two creation are based upon her favourite series of books. Lemony Snicket and the Series of Unfortunate Events. So ‘Lemony Snicket lemon pie!’ – well done Olivia, these look fabulous!
Miss Taylor thinks Kimberley did a great job on her year 7 Geography work, which was to investigate student’s global connections, by looking at their household items – well done Kimberley!
Samantha in year 12 did an excellent painting to represent the Humanistic Approach in Psychology, which was set as part of a ‘Make it in May Challenge’.

Year 12 chemists are embracing tackling tricky concepts remotely. Today they have built models to demonstrate a new form of stereoisomerism they are learning about, optical isomerism. Here are some of their isomeric non superimposable mirror image pairs. Mr Wiley is very impressed with their creativity with what they could find knocking about at home!
As part of their Spanglavision project, year 7 are researching Spanish speaking singers. Sra Brazier is really impressed with the level of detail and presentation of this piece from Fergus.

Emily had a fab day on Friday with her family and neighbours. She made the invitation, did the bunting, organised a family game and made cakes with her family. The balloon was biodegradable which she was chuffed with as amazing for the environment. Well done Emily!
Daniel created this homemade bunting.The family were remembering his great grandfather, Sam White, who was a grenadier guard in WW2 who survived the war with shrapnel in his knee, but always told everyone he slipped on a banana skin!

Mrs Brazier remembered her father yesterday. He was a tank driver in World War 2 and this was the route he took from D-Day to VE Day. He inspired her love of languages and travel.

For her Computing Challenge Nevinka in Year 8 has written a coded message in Ascii Binary code for Mrs Hollins-Wright to decode. Well done, excellent coded message and very true.

Freddie in year 8 has designed his phone of the future “around holograms as they are likely to become the norm and 6g is most likely already in development. This can be used for playing games like a normal phone and can also be used for work and can store large files as it has a 3 TB capacity”.

Lara has created a fantastic design for a phone of the future supported by a very detailed write-up in which she explained the functions and features that make it stand out: It can be worn like a watch and then extended to phone size, the strap is removable, the advanced camera settings, colours and holographic projector. Yesterday the SPIRIT lesson focused on kindness. One task was to design a thank you NHS t-shirt. Miss Edwards was inundated with emails from the students showcasing their designs (86 designs overall), she’s looked through them all and chosen 20 to share with you.

Max yr7 made his family weekly pasta sauce. An Italian recipe passed down from his nonna and nonno. Mince beef, celery, onion, beef stock pinch of bicarcarb, 3 tins of tomatoes. Super Tasty!! Gustoso.
Before Easter, Mrs Kelly asked her year 7 classes to choose one of the poems they had studied in class and create a visual representation of; the poem, a line from the poem or a character/persona from the poem. She is absolutely delighted, some of the responses were brilliant!

A fractal is a complicated pattern in maths built from simple repeated shapes that are reduced in size every time they are repeated. There are lots of fractals in nature, including clouds and the bark of trees. I wonder if you can find any fractals in your home or garden?
