We welcomed pupils from all over Alsager for the 9th annual Alsager Community Trust Primary Enterprise Event.
This year the event consisted of pupils from four primary schools: Cranberry Academy, Pikemere, Excalibur and St Gabriel’s School, who all competed for the prize of the most enterprising team.
Event organiser, Mr Harrison, commented: “This year saw young entrepreneurs in the making inspire us all with their unique product designs. Every single team did an outstanding job, making and selling their own products. I have been amazed again how the teams presented themselves in front of an audience of other schools and business judges”.
Each team set up a market stall in Hollinshead Hall, where they displayed the products they had made, and then gone on to sell within their own primary schools before Christmas. Exciting products that were created this year included: stress balls, reindeer food and Christmas tree decorations.
The event was supported by three judges this year which included business experts from Manchester Metropolitan University. One of the judges commented: “It was great to see how involved the children had been with their products. Each one unique and incredibly creative. The confidence when they were pitching their products was brilliant and it showed great skill to create products, work together as a team and present these products in a room full of people”.
The judges were impressed with the diverse range of products they made and the team’s confidence in working together and delivering their presentation.
This year’s winning team were called Red Nose Reindeers from Excalibur School. The judges were particularly impressed with their detailed presentation and range of great products.
