Alsager Sixth form has always had an excellent reputation for providing wrap around care and guidance to students. All students are allocated to a Tutor Group. Each Tutor Group has about 16 students under the care of the tutor whom they meet in a tutorial session every lunch time. Form tutors will support students in their adjustment to the Sixth Form or the transition to Year 13; help them to review their progress; monitor their attendance; respond to concerns from teaching staff and liaise with the Director and Deputy Director of Sixth Form where necessary. Under the guidance of their Personal Tutor, they will, over two years, follow a full tutorial programme which includes advice on study, preparation for examinations, progression planning, personal safety, making a positive contribution to society and independent living.
As many of our students have been in the school since Year 7 they also have long established relationships with their teachers and this in itself provides a comprehensive support network and someone to turn to if they are having problems.
The Sixth Form also benefits from a full time Support Manager, Mrs Barton and Sixth Form Administrator and Intervention Lead, Mrs Pass who are based in the Sixth Form office and available to deal with student or parent concerns and enquiries.
