A group of 45 Year 10 students took part in a STEM & Employability Skills workshop, run by Cogent Skills. Sharon Matthews, came in to school and ran the event which involved looking at areas such as:-
- Challenging the perception of scientists and careers in Science
- Finding out more about the work that Scientists do
- How scientists have had a major impact on how we live our lives
- Why employers value skills such as organisation, innovation, team-working, self-motivation, planning, problem-solving, decision making, communication and research skills
The workshop was a lot of fun and was very practical, with three teams having the same top score and therefore they all received prizes!
