We all enjoyed Sports day on Friday; the day started with heavy overnight rain having passed through and thankfully a drying breeze allowing us to set up and continue with the day. All went well with a few changes to the running order due to damp grass.
This year there were numerous new events such as cross-bar challenge, tug-of-war (very popular) and coconut-shy to name but a few.
All events went to plan with some excellent performances throughout – a new school record in year 7 boys 100m with Oliver Darwen continuing his fine form this season with a time of 12.65 sec beating the previous record set in 1984! We also had a new year 10 800m girls record with Annabel Brugger-Goring running a time of 2.45minutes.
Congratulations to Lovell College who were crowned Sports Day champions!
