8th March marks International Women’s Day and as this year is also the centenary of women gaining the vote, here at Alsager we have organised a commemorative day to mark the occasion.
International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. An inspiring woman will represent each faculty within school; years 7, 8 and 9 will be encouraged to take part in a competition to find out a certain piece of information about each woman.
There will also be a discussion about the suffragist movement in form groups and the LRC will be marking the occasion with a special display with books by, or about, inspiring women. Thank you for your support in helping promote this important day with your children.
