Iceland Trip

40 students went to Iceland over Easter to visit Iceland’s geothermal springs, magnificent icecaps and lava fields, allowing students a unique opportunity to appreciate the way nature has shaped the country’s landscape.

Highlights of the trip were the luxury spa at the Blue Lagoon for a swim in the geothermal waters, the spectacular waterfalls, the Geysir and Strokkur geysers, a visit to the Hellisheidi Geothermal Power Planet, an amazing glacier walk, bowling and a visit to the hamburger factory restaurant where a birth in Iceland is celebrated by ringing a bell in the restaurant.

Joe Dono in Year 10 said: “Getting soaked by the geyser was fantastic, climbing the glacier was an amazing experience and it was so interesting to see how they made electricity. I had a great time”.
