Alsager School

Congratulations Tom!

Congratulations to Tom Douglas-Barnes who has become, at the young age of 17, a qualified private pilot gaining his NPPLM (National Private Pilot’s Licence for Microlights). Tom, a member of Alsager Training Corps (ATC), British Microlight Aircraft Association and Cheshire Flyers, has been keen on flying since he was 3 years old.
Joining ATC at 13 to become more involved in flying he has recently been nominated to attend a 6 week RAF scholarship to gain an alternative type rating to allow him to fly heavier general aviation types, this follows a 2 week scholarship last summer in Dundee, again supported by the RAF & ATC, where Thomas completed a course in the heavier aircraft type up to solo standard flying, this took place from Dundee Airport which is a fully operation commercial airport.
Well done Tom!
