Over the two week period of the 7th November to the 18th November we have been recognising the significance of ‘Anti-Bullying Week’. As many people are aware, bullying is very rare at Alsager School and students have strong skills at developing positive relationships and dealing constructively with peer conflict. However, should bullying take place our students understand and recognise it. They also know who they can turn to if they need support or if they feel that a peer needs support.
Mr Clegg and Mrs Walton have delivered whole school assemblies on the national theme of ‘Power for Good’ which can be seen below. All of the school have also participated in Anti-Bullying competitions looking at the various categories of bullying.
· Year 7 Physical Bullying
· Year 8 Bullying and friendship
· Year 9 Homophobic Bullying
· Year 10 Respect
Additionally, our Student Voice have been acting as our Safeguarding Champions and meeting with Mrs Walton to talk about the key issues around bullying and also how we can empower bystanders of bullying. Our ever pro-active ‘Anti-Bullying Ambassadors’ are about to go into all Year 7 forms and deliver workshops on anti-bullying.
