KS5 Attitude to Learning Grades

1. Has an exemplary attitude to learning

  • Is consistently enthusiastic, interested and motivated.
  • Contributes fully to group discussion and collaborative learning opportunities.
  • Demonstrates excellent independent learning skills.
  • Is very well organized and efficient.
  • Makes comprehensive notes and / or makes a record of learning.
  • Completed homework / preparation necessary for lesson.

2. Attitude to learning makes a strong contribution to progress

  • Is generally enthusiastic, interested and motivated.
  • Tries hard to contribute to group discussion and collaborative learning opportunities
  • Demonstrates good independent learning skills.
  • Is generally well organized and efficient.
  • Makes notes.
  • Completed homework / preparation necessary for lesson.

3. Is capable of having a good attitude to learning but one or more of the following apply

  • Displays inconsistent enthusiasm, interest and motivation.
  • Variable levels of concentration, focus and engagement
  • Student is reluctant and obstructive when required to engage in collaborative work
  • Allows herself/himself to become distracted.
  • Homework not completed / deadlines not met.
  • Can’t be negotiated back to 2

4. Attitude to learning impedes progress

  • Is disruptive, disinterested and lacks motivation.
  • Needs constant direction from teacher to stay on task.
  • Homework not completed / deadlines not met.
  • Rude and / or uncooperative.
  • Can’t be negotiated back to 2
