Alsager School

A level, AS level and BTEC Results

Our 6th Form College is celebrating a fantastic set of A level, AS level and BTEC results this summer. 52% of all grades awarded at A level were A*-B and the average grade per A level entry was a B. More importantly, the vast majority of students secured their first choice pathway for either university, an apprenticeship or employment. Headteacher, Mr Middlebrook said: “We are absolutely delighted with this year’s 6th form results, which once again demonstrate our high quality post 16 provision here at Alsager”.

Significant performers included Anna Cawdron, who achieved 2 A*’s and 1 A in English Literature, History and English Language. She is now going to the University of Nottingham to study English and History. Miriam May also secured 2 A*’s and 1 A in Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics and is going to study Civil Engineering at Sheffield University. Alfie Godley was awarded 1 A* in Mathematics and 3 A’s in Chemistry, Further Mathematics and Physics, he is now going on to study Mathematical Physics at Nottingham University. Max Maxfield achieved an A* in English Literature and A’s in History and Politics, he is going to study Politics and Modern History at Manchester University.

At AS level there were also some incredible results achieved by Alsager students. Joe Cawley, Tim Hargreaves, Toni Moran, Megan Preston, Catherine Haley and Molly Vokes all achieved the highest grades possible, 4 A’s in all their subjects. A remarkable achievement.

Mr Middlebrook went on to say: “Congratulations to all our students. These superb results are richly deserved and reflect the hard work put in by our young people, the staff and the fantastic support from our parents. These results are even more pleasing when you consider the huge changes which have been introduced at national level in terms of new A level courses and the ‘raising of the bar’ by government and the exam boards. I would like to praise our young people for handling these new, more challenging AS courses with such maturity and the staff for delivering these new specifications so professionally. I wish all of our 6th form leavers every happiness and future success”.

Our 6th form will continue to offer support for any students who need any further advice and guidance over the coming weeks. In addition places are still available for any students who do not have a post 16 course secured for September 2016. Please contact or telephone 01270 871122 for more information.
